Edward D. Tatum, Jr. - 78 - Of Stoughton, formerly of Scituate passed away on November 9, 2016 in Boston after a sudden and brief illness.

He was the devoted father of Edward "Ted" Tatum, III of Stoughton and Christopher S. Tatum and his wife Liz of Mission Viejo, CA.

Cherished grandfather of Bianca, Nadia, Zachary, Rebecca, Emma and Noah.

Loving brother of Richard Tatum of HI, Lorraine Tatum of Florida and the late Loretta McDermott of Canton. Former husband of the late Barbara (Lynch) Tatum.

He was the devoted father of Edward "Ted" Tatum, III of Stoughton and Christopher S. Tatum and his wife Liz of Mission Viejo, CA.

Loving brother of Richard Tatum of HI, Lorraine Tatum of Florida and the late Loretta McDermott of Canton. Former husband of the late Barbara (Lynch) Tatum.

Known as "Big Ed" or "Mr. T" to his sons' friends, he was an avid sports fan. He could be found cheering on his boys and their friends in various hockey rinks, football fields, baseball diamonds and basketball courts around the south shore. He loved playing golf and was a member of Ponkapoag Golf Club in Canton for over 35 years. Whether as a coach or a fan, he will be fondly remembered by many.

Visitation Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 9 AM to 12 Noon at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate.

Burial PRIVATE.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather immediately following the visitation at the Mill Wharf Restaurant in Scituate.
