Duffey, Mary Louise (nee Small)- Of Scituate, died on January 12, 2018 after a brief illness. She was 97 years old. Mary was born on August 6, 1920 in Sommerville. She was the first of four daughters of their much beloved parents Joe and Mary Small. Mary graduated from Regis College in 1942, as her three sisters later would too. She was married to William Duffey, an airman in WWII and college professor in 1943. Mary was a teacher and librarian at the times of her life when she wasn't raising her three children, Bill,...

Duffey, Mary Louise (nee Small)- Of Scituate, died on January 12, 2018 after a brief illness. She was 97 years old. Mary was born on August 6, 1920 in Sommerville. She was the first of four daughters of their much beloved parents Joe and Mary Small. Mary graduated from Regis College in 1942, as her three sisters later would too. She was married to William Duffey, an airman in WWII and college professor in 1943. Mary was a teacher and librarian at the times of her life when she wasn't raising her three children, Bill, Martha and Stephen. She is predeceased by her husband and her oldest son William.

Her daughter, Martha Doherty, currently lives in Weymouth and her son Stephen lives in Scituate. She is survived by a huge band of nieces and nephews, her two grandchildren, Craig Doherty, a firefighter in Holyoke and Grace Duffey, an aspiring actress living and working in North Hampton, Ma. She leaves behind two great grandchildren Sean and Tommy Doherty of Holyoke. She is also remembered by a bevy of friends and staff members at the Life Care Center in Scituate and all those at Sunrise Assisted Living in Cohasset.

A memorial mass will take place at 10am on Friday February 2, 2018 from St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate
